Often I find water colour paintings to be diluted and the artist doesn't use the full potential of the medium. Here you have. The blending of colours is like a symphony of brilliance. It's beautiful. I especially like the strong contrast between the stark white of her skin to the dense galaxy of water. For some reason this woman reminds me of a sort of mother of the galaxy. it's not the traditional mother earth figure that we see all decked out in green and leaves. This person seems like someone so much larger, like the goddess of life and the galaxy. She wears the pain of the worlds brutality in her eyes and the love and embrace in her gentle disposition. I could go on about this forever. There are so many hidden metaphors within this piece and I don't know if that was intended or not.
What I'm trying to say is: This is incredible. Bravo. Never have I given 5 Stars all across the board before.
I really like your art Silja! Your illustrations are very expressive and somehow delicate. It really hits a weak spot in me . May I ask you a question about your technique? Is the white on her hands and the face still the white of the paper or is it white paint? I really like what you create with watercolours - very inspiring! All the best to you!
oh, I like the white of the paper underneath also more then painted white. It just makes it so much harder to paint - one single mistake and your white is gone... You are so skillfull! Keep up your amazing work! All the best!
Pretty artsy visual. Aesthetically executed indeed. I like the flourish element of her head, and forming her tears. besides, the galactic visual illustrated below her is so nice, kind of drowning in endless of no where. She looks like pinching herself. Beautiful concept, splendid execution I would say.
I know I'm just saying the same things like other people before me, but girl; you have some skills! I have always loved painting spacey skies with my watercolours, and this gives me so much inspiration to do that again. I just want to paint after strolling around in your gallery
The watercolor work impresses, the fluidity of the water and the universe-like pattern you made on it with the white paint impresses as well, but what gets me the most is the expressiveness of the pic. Not only on the expression of the figure, but how things seem to sprout from her, from her eyes like tears, how she got her own hand around her neck, drowning herself without her head touch the water, and how all of this just illustrates more and more all that you passed us about this work onyour comment. This work is amazing, one of the greatest I saw recently.
